- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The day after the Feast of the Assumption, 15th August, people begin to cut their oats.
On 1st May people never put out either ashes or dust. They have such respect for our Blessed Lady that they say that not even the dew must be soiled on their "Mother's Day". Nobody likes to put up the first smoke that morning and hence they all sleep until a late hour.
People never throw out water or give out milk after sunset.
On Hallow Eve, 31st October, people neither lock nor bolt their doors. When going to bed they make sure that the fireplace is clean and they leave bread and butter at hand for any poor soul from Purgatory who might visit the house during the night.- Bailitheoir
