    The people in this district use many cures of their own. When a child has the mumps they take out her out to the stable and put the ass's harness on her and make her walk around the stable three times and say a Hail Mary. When one has ringworm she gets ten old pieces of iron and puts one of them to it every morning for ten mornings and then buries them where nobody will walk over them.
    To draw a sore or boil the people make a mixture of sugar and soap and apply it to the sore.
