Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)my father sprays the potatoes twice and shovels them once. In autumn he digs them with a spade and my eldest brother picks them into a bucket and puts them into a heap in the field and covers them with clay. They are left there during the winter.
Neighbours help one another at cutting the corn and saving the hay but they do not help one another at the potatoes.
The names of the potatoes that we cultivate are "Blues", "Kerr's Pinks", "Arranbanners" and "Champions".
The potatoes that grow best on our farm are "Blues" and "Kerr's Pinks".
I never saw potatoes used instead of starch.
