- There is a holy well in the town-land of Clonocey in Mr. Hinkson's land. It is in a graveyard. It is near the road leading from Belturbet to Redhills. A monastery once stood there. The monastery fell. The bell was supposed to have been removed by the Cromwellian soldiery and thrown in a lough close by. The townland in which this lake is has been called Bellinlough.
The well above mentioned is like a very small font. A person inflicted with warts is cured there by putting water from the font on the warts. He dips each wart in the well and blesses himself three times. He leaves a momento there - which seems to be usually a halfpenny.
