the corpse to the vault. When they were leaving the vault they thought they heard a faint cry. They listened and heard it again but could not make out where it was coming from. They heard it a third time and some of them said it was coming from the coffin. Some of them took the lid of the coffin and no sooner had they done so than the girl sat up in the coffin. All present nearly died with fear but when they saw she was really alive they took her home and she lived for years afterwards.
There is the ruins of an old castle in the townland of Drumcarron in the parish of Annagh. This was called O'Reilly's castle and there is an end wall still standing. When it was being built the sand and mortar was wet with the blood from bullock - calves. The farm on which these ruins are formerly belonged to Mick Rehill in the parish of Drung.
