  1. "Thrush" a disease in children. The cure id held by a person born after his father's death
    Sprain - This cure is held by Mrs Mary Fay.
    Magherintemple, Lisboduff Cootehill, Co Cavan. She rubs the afflicted part and makes the sign of the cross three times on it. She then says some prayers. The cure must be performed three times.
    "Sty" - If someone over twenty years of age pierces the eye nine times with a goose-berry thorn, and throws the thorn away, the "sty" is said to disappear in a short time.
