    There is one shoe-maker in this district. The number of shoemakers in it long was was seven. The reason of this change is that those shoemakers never taught the trade to anyone but their own people.
    There were clogs made locally they are even made around here yet. There is a clog maker named Pat Kiernan living a couple of miles outside Virginia
    There were foot coverings of sheep skin used instead of boots long ago. These were made by two men who lived in Cornasesk.
