Pottle Point
The pottle point is a point out in the lake so called because the land around it used to belong to a man named Mr Pottle.
Spink's Hill
Spink's Hill is on the Cavan road which is about one quarter of a mile outside this town.
In the days of the stage coaches there was an accident on Spink's hill and Spinks fell out of the coach and he was killed hence the name Spink's Hill.
