  1. Toneymore Castle
Toneymore is a castle once occupied by the Reilly's, but it is now a ruin. On the top floor there is a stone resembling that of the Blarney stone. there are three gun holes in the ruin which proves that it was attacked.
There is a hill quite near to the castle, which belongs to Mr. Martin, From this hill the castle is supposed to have been attacked. Tradition tells us, that the cannon ball, which finally knocked the castle was shot by Bromwell himself.
This castle was once in the middel of a lake, known as Toneymore lake. when the railway between Cavan and Crossdoney was laid, this lake was drained. Even today when I visited the castle the ground was quite marshy. George smith showed me stone stools called "ceishexs" , which were once used by fishermen while fishing.
The castle is about twenty-one feet square, and thirty feet high. It is believed that it was orginally sixty feet high. There are two windows left, three feet by half a foot.
