- Local Marriage Customs People of this district prefer to get married on a Wednesday to any other day of the week. It is so believed that Wednesday brings good luck to the people who are getting married. No one likes to get married on a Friday because they believe that the husband would die before they are six months married. The old proverb says "Friday for Crosses." There are no match-making in this district. Money is sometimes given as a dowry for marriage. Stock or goods are very seldom given.
