- A great Storm
There was a terrible storm occurred in this country about about the year 1895.The day before the storm was very cold and damp.In the evening it began snowing heavily.In the night there were heavy winds and the snow continued to fall heavily .Next morning the snow was so deep that people could not get out.The windows of the houses were covered with snow about three inches deep.The snow on the ground next morning was eight to ten feet deep.
In the country there was much harm done.There was many cattle and sheep buried under the snow.The children living in the country were unable to go to school.The milk-cars were unable to travel to the town to sell milk.The people in the town had to do without milk for several days.
The wind blew down a lot of trees and did much harm.Some of the people had to dig away the snow to get to the town for food. All the crops of the field(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
