- There are many classes of weeds. Most of them are useful for medicinal purposes. Some weeds are very harmful to the land, such as running-skutch, rag-weed, docks and hemlock.
They all spread rapidly and impoverish the soil. Thistles grow on good ground; rushes and moss grow on poor ground.
Nettles are used for purifying the blood. The nettles are boiled and then eaten.
Rag-weed is useful for swollen joints. The rag-weed is heated before it is used.
The nettles are used for food given to people.
Fraughans are used for dyeing purposes and are also used(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
