- One night, last winter, I heard mother tell a very strange ghost story, and she said it was true.
There were two old Protestant landlords, who used to evict all the Catholic tenants whether they paid the rent or not. When they died their spirits appeared and they used to frighten people going to the fairs early in the morning and beat them - and the people never did any good after. The "spirits" used to run under the horses' feet, in the form of a mouse, and knock down the horses.
In the end, the people told the Parish Priest about the spirits and the way they tormented people going to the fairs.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
