- Long ago the children were not used to toys and they made toys for themselves.
One of the toys they made was a whistle. It was made from a piece of an ash stick about two inches long. The stick is cut and the bark has to be loosened and screwed off with the hand, the stick has to be wet, then put on the bark again. Cut a hole in the side as far as the split. Then the whistle is ready for use.
A motor, It was made with a couple of little boards, and for wheels they used lids of polish boxes.
For a horse they got up on a stool.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
