    Many, many years ago there was supposed to be a treasure hidden under an ash tree in Mr. William Gill's lawn at Tinnecross Rath.

    Many, many years ago there was supposed to be a treasure hidden under an ash tree in Mr. William Gill's lawn at Tinnacross, Rath. It was supposed to be well guarded by the good people. One night three men who feared neither man nor devil went to dig for it. They brought a pick, a shovel, a spade, and a good black-thorn stick each. After digging for some time a cock came, clapped his wings and crew several times around them, but they took no notice of him. Then came a pack of hounds in full cry up to them growling, snarling and fighting in and around them but these did not deter them from their task. After some time the hounds disappeared and finally came swarms of ants in such number that they could not see each other or where standing. After
