    Saturday no luck at all.
This is a rhyme about the days of the week which are either lucky or unlucky for marriage. Matches are generally made between bachelors and girls up to 35 years of age.
Money is usually given and very seldom are stock or goods given as a wedding present.
A marriage took place in a house in Stonestown, Cloghan, Offaly, about 84 years ago.
A wedding feast was usually held in the house of the bride and all that day feasting and drinking took place and no person left for home until dawn the next day. No honeymoon used be spent in those days.
When the procession left the chapel, every man went straight for his horse and dray. Then the sport began. Each man raced his horse as hard as he could to see which man had the best horse and whoever reached the bride's house first
