- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)to be in it, an’ they used to have great goings on. They used to go out riding every day on gran’ white horses. Hunten’ they used to be over the hills an’ across the bogs. There was no road there where it is now, but there was a long avenue. It came out from the castle and went up the hill where the road is now, an’ then there was a gran’ gate there called the Pike an’ it has that name yet. There used to be water flowing all round the castle, so that no one could come in unknownst, and they had a little bridge made of timber that they could let up and down when one was coming in. They used to have soliders there too, on guard. When the gran’ ladies could be going out they(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
