    The Cuckoos sing through sweet Kilmore
    To Erin's shore they've lately come
    For Spring has decked their leafy bowers
    With springing flowers a wealth of bloom
    And up in Ballyvora grove
    The birds sing love in every tree
    And down below in Scarragh wood
    They pour a flood of melody

    Around Ferbane the fields are green
    The birds sing love in every tree
    A vernal scene of loveliness
    And Ballylin is all a din
    With Natures voices rapturous
