  1. In the townland of Murrough, in the parish of Rahan, in the barony of Ballycowhan and in the county of Offaly a treasure which is composed of a crock of gold, is supposed to be hidden in a field owned by Mr. James Molloy.
    It is said that the treasure is hidden under a rock.
    An attempt to unearth the treasure wa sonce made by three men. One moonlight night they went through the fields to the rock where the treasure is supposed to be hidden. They went
