The wager was accepted.
Downes planned with another fellow to hide in the tomb.
When the other fellow had a skull in his hands, a voice exclaimed in sepulchral tones, "That's mine." He left it down and took up another. The voice said again "That's mine." He left it down and took up the third, the same thing happened. "Begor a man," says the fellow, "They all can't be yours." Out he went and brought the skull with him and laid it down and Downes' counter and won his wager.
