- The Local LandlordIn former times there were two grades of landlords, head landlords and middle landlords, but in some districts there were only head landlords. In my home district there was only a head landlady named Lady Maurice. In the school district they were two middle landlords, Mr Greig Murphy and Miss Brigid Fitzpatrick and they were hard on their tenants and made them pay too much for their farms. One of Miss Fitzpatricks tenants named Kinsella was not able to pay the heavy rent demanded. They were asked to(continues on next page)
