  1. There is a town-land called
    Tubber-patrick or Toherpatrick
in the district and in a neighbouring townland is the church and graveyard of Cross patrick.
Local tradition sayd that St Patrick visited this district and blessed the well which is called St. Patrick's well. (on the lands of Mr J.J Hayden).
Patterns were held here in olden days on March 17. but were discontinued about seventy years ago. The water in the well is said to contain a cure but it cannot now be ascertained exactly what the cure is. Two fishes lived in this well for many years and were regarded with respect by all the local people. It was customary for anyone coming to the well, to feed the fish with breadcrumbs.
A certain family living nearby, however took the fish and brought them home. Try as they would, they could not cook the fish so they brought them back to the well. Leaving them under a stone at the water's edge
But the fish disappeared and were never seen in the water again.
St. Patrick's well supplies all the families living in its neighbourhood with water.
