    The kind of bread that was eaten in olden times was bran bread, wheaten bread and some people used to make bread from yellow meal.
    Meat was not used as much then as it is now. Fish was used.
    The people had special food on special days. On Easter Sunday they mostly ate eggs, on Shrove Tuesday night they ate pancakes. They were from eggs skim milk and flour.
    Colcannon is made on "All souls night". It is made from potatoes, parsnips, salt, pepper and cabbage
    They are all boiled in a pot first + when they are boiled, they are all mashed up together.
    On Good Friday long ago the people used to drink no milk + they had no sugar in their tea. They ate nothing but hard bread.
    Before cups were used there were things called drinking horns.
