“There are in Youngstown a few old wall ruins...”
There are in Youngstown a few old walls ruins, opposite the house of Patrick Donnelly
They are the remains of a forge that was there in '98 and where the men made pikes for the Rebels. They were informed on by Walter Hore of Harperstown House Desmesne, but the rebels afterwards got their revenge on the same Walter Hore when they met him on the old Wexford bridge, which crossed the Slaney river opposite the old Courthouse in Wexford, and piked him with the pikes that were made in the same forge and threw the dead body into the Slaney.- Faisnéiseoir
