There were a woman and a man living near this locality long ago and their names were Martin and Mary Doyle.
They had only one son and his name was Jack. This boy used to go every night to play cards to a neighbour's house. This night he left for home about 11.30 o'clock and when he came ouside the gate there was a funeral passing. They were carrying the corpse on a bier so he followed it down the road. When he was coming near his own gate he got under the coffin to help the men to carry it. The minute he got under it the whole thing was left with him and all the other people disappeared so he laid the corpse down in the ditch.
He went home and told his father what he had seen. His father said he was dreaming but he said that the corpse was above in the ditch.
The two of them went up and got the corpse in the ditch so they brought it down and brought it into the kitchen. He took the lid off and a young girl sat(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
