    who might be dead. He wrote home the next day to his people, who lived at that time near Ferry-Carrig, Wexford. As the two boys belonged to the same place, they wrote back by return, that the Protestant boy was three weeks dead.
    He got very excited and told the priest of the parish, whose name was Father Kehoe. The priest told him he should not have made any agreement about after death as now he would have to fulfill the promise. The priest prepared himself to meet the dead man and he brought the boy with him.
    He met the dead man in the big field adjoining Ferry-Carrig Church yard. The priest stood with the boy in the middle of the field, and sprinkled a large circle of Holy water around himself and the Catholic boy, and he read from a book and called on the Protestant boy to come on to fulfill his promise.
    Having called on him for some time, they heard some terrible roaring and tearing through the earth and at last they saw him coming in a big cloud of smoke and fire. The poor boy took hold of the priest. He was really dying with fright. The priest held up his hand and told the Protestant boy to stand, as he could not get inside the circle of Holy water. The Protestant boy said, "O! I am lost, I am in the fits of hell, and only you are inside that big wall
