- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)There are many birds in the country. The Thrush is a very common bird in this district. She is a very nice sprightly bird. She is the same size as the Blackbird. She makes her nest out of clay and moss. She builds it at the bottom of a white-thorn hedge and sometimes in a hole in an old wall. She lays about five or six eggs. They are blue. She hatches them for about three weeks. When they young birds come out of the eggs she goes away looking for grubs for her young ones. The birds that came in the summer are the Swallow the Cuckoo and the corn-crake. The Cuckoo comes in April and goes away in June. The Corn-crake is around during the whole summer.
