- In Rathnamoddagh there is a field called Baelnawilla. There is a fort in it called the "Black Fort." There is a story about it.Once there was a man who had a very big hump on his back passing by the "Black Fort" about midnight.
He heard music and dancing within. It was the fairies and they invited him to join them. He did so.The fairies made great fun by kicking him from corner to corner as he was a very quite man he never grumbled.When daylight came, and the fairies were about to disappear, they asked each other how they would get to live without this man?At last they decided to cut off his hump, and hang it up. They did so. The man went home without his hump.There also lived in the neighbourhood(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
