One day a young man got into difficulties he got the advice of a solicitor and when he went to settle up his accounts he asked how much was the fee. The solicitor said "as I knew your father I will only charge you five pound the man said "thank God you did not know my grandfather."

He was a French man who was spending holidays in Slane. Treasures were guarded by this serpent. After his death a golden lamp and several other valuable things were seen in the Boyne. There is no account of water bulls in the district.
