  1. I
On the fourteenth of November in the year of 1884.
I saw the grandest fox hunt I ever saw before.
    They came to Rathnally covert
    Where Reynard bold was found,
    He darted through Dunganny
    And o'er Cloncullen then,
And headed straight for Dunlough Hill,
In hopes to gain his den
    II
    And getting no admittance there,
    He cunningly crept down.
    To that famous fox covert
    Of lovely Philpotstown.
    First came Tommy Barnwell,
    Who rode a splendid grey.
    Next his brother Richard
    With Saw Reynolds of renown.
    Butler George, the whipper-in
    And Maher of Clavinstown.
Composed by Tomas Connor who lived in Cloncullen all his life
