    About a half mile from where I live there is a townland named Pike Corner. It is situated at the corner of a crossroads. During the battle of Tara the pikes used were made there so that is why the place is so called. Near the place there is a field called Connor's Field. There was a hedge school in one end of that field. The teachers name was Connor. Latin, Irish and music were
