- The Care of the feetThe dew is supposed to be good for the feet and people used walk through the grass in the early morning in their barefeet to make their feet hard. The water out of the blacksmiths trough was also supposed to harden the feet. For a scald round the toe a woolen thread tied round the sore part to make a cure. Running water was supposed to cure an ankel sprain especially if the water fell from a height on to the ankle. In Winter time country people working on the farm used put a wisp of hay or straw(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
