- Ballygarth Castle Julianstown is of Norman origin, was renovated about one hundred years ago and belongs to the Pepper family. It was saved from destruction by Cromwell because one of the Peppers gave a white horse to one of Cromwells henchmen in exchange for deeds of the castle and lands. Convenient to it are the remains of an old chapel with some wonderful specimens of architecture. Dardistown Castle Julianstown the home of Major Osborne is a modern building but portion of it is the old Norman castle built in the fourteenth(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
