  1. A long time ago people were going to America. When their friends were coming on the old road at Betaghstown they met a procession, and when passing they said Hallo! When they passed they thought of it been a funeral. They were very disgusted at saying Hallo! to them. They went back to them and when they got beside them they disappeared and were seen no more. The men ran home scared and said they would never go that road again.
