- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)off went the bannock as hard as he could till he left them far behind. The next thing he came to was a field full of geese. "Where did you come from" says the old goose. I come from a wee wee woman and a wee wee man and a wee wee pot and a wee wee pan a barn full of threshers, a river full of washers a den full of foxes and I'll get away from you if I can. Ah! says the old gander come over her till I show you this grand white feather. But when the bannock went nearer the gander stretched out his long neck and took a nip out of the other side and the poor bannock made off as hard as he was able and the geese after him. They nearly had him when he jumped a ditch and down he fell among a bed of cabbages and there he lay buried and cut and tired till he fell fast asleep. He knew nothing until morning when he woke up and saw a woman bending over him. "And where did you come from," she said "I come from a wee, wee woman, and a wee, wee man, a wee, wee pot and a wee, wee pan a barn full of threshers a river full of washers, a den full of foxes, a field full of geeses (this plural was always used) and I'll get away from you if I can".
