    like a shed but it is bigger and the roof is made of timber. It is nearly always a two part door that is in all the forges. There are never more than two fires in a forge. The bellows are hung from a frame with a chain hanging out of it. The top and bottom of the bellows are made of timber and the body is made of leather.
    The implements the smith uses are the anvil, swages(there are two kinds of swages top and bottom) the hammer, manderless, punches, and chilsels, drilling machine and the most useful thing of all is water. The black smith never shoes horses, asses or cattle, but he shoes wheels. The farrier shoes the horses and asses.
    The black smiths make all farm things, he repairs mowing machines, wheels rakes and slide rakes. The black smiths are counted as being very strong men and are also good story tellers. In the outskirts of Ennis there was a black smith of the name of Curtis who was famous in having a cure for liver complaint. The suffering person would be
