Whooping Cough
Milk left over after a ferret is supposed to be an old cure for whooping cough. It is supposed that a man riding on a white horse has a cure for whooping cough. When the person with the cough meets the man riding on his horse and asks him for a cure, the horse man tells him to do something and if he does it that is supposed to cure him. Or the mother or any friend of the sick person could ask.
They often gave such cures as to drink a mares milk, to drink a sheep's milk and to creep under a horses stomach.
Warts
Some believed that if you rubbed water found in a hole in a stone to warts they would disappear. According to some people you should come on the stone unexpectedly and others say you should search for it.(continues on next page)- Collector
