- There are about five blacksmiths in Ennis namely Darcy in Market St., Malone in the Causeway, Morgan in Mill St., Ferguson in O'Connell St. and Reidy in Mill Road. Some of them are smiths and others are farriers. They have each a large forge in which to do their business and to bring the horses in near them. Only a few of them make gates, ploughs and farm things. They have an anvil on which to weld the iron and shoes. They have a bellows to keep the fire red. Morgan has a forge in Mill St. It has a round shape on the door.
