  1. Local Cures
There is a big stone at a cross - road between Ardfinnan and Cahir, with two hollows in it, one deeper than the other. The hollows are supposed to have been made by St Patrick when he knelt on the stone when passing that way.
It is believed that st. Patrick passed that road on his way to Melleray.
Old people in the locality believed , that if sore or weak eyes were bathed in the water which is nearly always in the hollows of the stone they would be cured. The water in the right hollow for preference. The cross where this stone is, is called '' Lucknabow Cross''
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
