About four miles north of this village, there is another place called Boulick, Where there is a grave-yard and a ruins of a monastery attached to it. People are burried in that grave-yard also. There is a passage under ground going from Boulick to Kilcooley Abbey, where there is a ruins of a monastery also. It was suppressed in the time of Cromwell and is on the estate owned by Thomas B. Ponsonby, a descendent of one of Cromwell's soldiers. Before Cromwell's campaign this estate was owned by the O Meaghers of Ikerrin who lived at Clonamondra Castle. Lord Ikerrin's tomb is in Kilcooley Abbey.- Bailitheoir
