    hedge-school was in Killamory, and it is believed that he received his early education there. The chief subjects he taught were Irish, French and Latin.
    When he was about to finish his Education, the Earl of Ormonde built a school for his employees and his tenants. The first teacher who taught in it was Seán Ó Dúinn. He was a very good school-master. He taught many subjects to the children. Some of the principal ones were writing and Irish. He was a very good writer himself and used to write many poems, songs and stories.

One day a few Republican soldiers were going up to Cottterstown and they called into Garryricken House and while they were inside a lorry of military arrived and started to surround and ambush it. The leader of the Republicans stationed a man with a rifle inside each window which he bravely defended. One of the military climbed up the ladder and attempted to come in the window but
