  1. The principal time for marriage to take place is on Shrove
    In olden times the people used to have danees[?] after the wedding. When couples used to get married you would see two old shoes hanging out of the motor, one belonged to the man and another belonged to the woman.
    The two people used not go in the same car. The song is:
    Monday for wealth,
    Tuesday for health
    Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
    Saturday the worst day of all.
    It is said that old shoes used to be thrown after them for luck.
