If the sun goes down red it is the sign of fine weather. If it rises red it is the sign of wet weather. A bright starry night is the sign of frost. A rainbow in the morning is a shepherd's warning, a rainbow in the evening is a shepherd's delight. The winds that bring most rain to our district are the south west winds. When the clouds are moving in the sky it is the sign of wet weather. Wen the swallows are flying low it is the sign of rain and when the robin sits on the branch of a tree it is the sign of fine weather. When far away hills look near it is the sign of rain. When the big "cat" in Clare Glens is roaring it is the sign of fine weather. when the small "cat" is roaring it is the sign of wet weather. When the smoke goes up straight it is the sign of fine weather. When there is blue light in the fire and when soot falls it is the sign of wet weather.
