- The teachers name who was teaching in this district was Mr. Brick. He taught a hedge school and went under the name of "Old Brick" to the inhabitants of this locality. He used lodge in the farmer's houses. He was given eggs, milk and turf for the instruction he gave.
Irish was the subject nearly always taught. Any books the children had would do them. Goose quills made into the shape of a pen were used for writing.
