- There are many forts in the townland of Cappagh, but there is one of particular interest. It is called the fort of Knock-na-feeda Hill. The hill is divided by the public road. The lands containing the fort are owned by Mr. Shephard of Callow. The fort is circular with a deep trench all round it. Inside the trench is lined a big mound of earth. On each side of [?] the mound are white-thorn bushes, which meeting overhead. In the centre of this fort it is very green, which shows that the invisible inhabitants are taking great care of it.
