Knocknaboha:-This place is a townland about five miles west of Newcastle West on the top of a big hill. The townland is so small that there is but two farms and a cottage. The cottage is my grandfather's and the farms belong to Mrs Mulvhill and Mrs Yielding. This place got its name in the year that the Danes were driven out of the country. On this hill some soldiers were camping. At the dead of night a band of Danes rushed on them slew them and burned their tents. Ever since it is called(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
