    Food in Olden Times.
People used eat three meals a day in olden times. Breakfast at eight, dinner at one, and supper about seven. They used have porridge or gruel for breakfast. Potatoes for dinner, and Indian bread or turnips and a herring for supper. The people worked in the morning before eating. Potatoes were not eaten at every meal. Skimmed milk was drunk. They used sit around a table, placed in the center of the floor. No one heard of the table been hung up on the wall when not in use.
The Indian bread was made by mixing Indian meal with a little flour and was baked on a griddle. Meat was seldom seen as food. fish and vegetables were used for special occasions. People did not eat late at night.
    Told by my grandfather.
