He composed songs and he also wrote prose and the following is one of his songs.Come all ye jolly sports men,and listen to my song.
Concerning a great sports man, his fame was renown.
His name it was Massey, from near Ardagh town.
Massy and his comrades went hunting a hare.
They rose in Ballyloughane I declare -
On a break of furze bushes in Dooley's big fort.
