  1. Kitty Lynch. June 22nd 1938
    Glenastar,
    Ardagh,
    Co. Limerick.
    The Maids of Ardagh.
    Not far beyond Knockfierna height.
The moon was thrown its silvery light.
My spirit home-wards takes a flight.
To meet the maids of Ardagh.
No rose with in the morning bower.
Blooms fresh with in the sunning shower.
And Mary was the fairest flower.
    That ever bloomed in Ardagh.
I praised her beauty long and loud.
And round her waist my arms I flung.
And said my lassie wilth thou gang.
To view the maids of Ardagh.
Told to me by my mother.
    Mrs. John Lynch,
    Glenastar,
    Ardagh,
    Co. Limerick.
