  1. There are three castles in the district,-, Blarney Castle, Mourne Abbey Castle, and David's castle. Blarney Castle, and David's castle was built in the sixtheen century. Blarney castle was built by Mac Carthy Mór, Mourne Abbey Castle was built by Cromwell in the seventheen century. David's castle was built by Thomas Davis. Mourne Abbey Castle was derlicted about a hundred years ago.
    Blarney Castle is in the parish of Blarney, Barony of East Muskerry and County of Cork. Mourne Abbey Castle is in the townland and parish of Mourne Abbey. David's castle is in the townland of Ballymorisheen, parish of Grenagh,
